  • Appropriate maintenance procedures
  • The types of milling cutters and their correct mounting and removal and their appropriateness for various tasks
  • The secure holding of materials during milling to include irregular shaped components and correct guarding during milling operations
  • The correct speeds and feeds and their effect on the cutting process, including the appropriate use of coolants
  • The safe working practices in the school workshop when using this machine with learners
  • The particular aspects of the safe use of computer controlled machining
